About this video

In the ongoing “Neighborhoods of the Russian River Valley”, Gary Farrell Wine Maker Theresa Heredia discusses the Middle Reach. This is the northernmost neighborhood of the Russian River Valley and as a result, it is the warmest. However, the River flows through here, bringing a cooling influence to the area. Diurnal fluctuations are a defining characteristic of the region and the elevations of plantings vary greatly. These wines are velvety and rich, with unmistakable cherry and red fruit notes. Some say tannins here are the highest in the RRV, while the acid levels tend to be lower. These wines are best known for their texture.
